Through these images the inspiration and idea behind #ForTheNewRomantics was definitely portrayed. The character of the brand’s typical woman: one who is fearless, delicate yet modern and determined; the new romantic. The balance between old and new, that is visible in both the collection and in the images, characterised by almost doll-esque poses. The campaign was shot in DC, in a house museum, perfectly conserved, 1865 setting.

Nayibe Nassar was both the designer, fabricator and art director for everything: this included choice of location, styling, the selection of every single production member — included photographer Aly Michelle. The collection was handmade and available by order. Custom made pieces are available with at least two months of anticipation to delivery date. Here is a gift to you: the backstage images, and the campaign images. Are you #TheNewRomantic ?

It is summer, this means the weather is amazing and you have no excuses to stay in bed watching Breakfast At Tiffany’s for the 100th time. Get out go for a run, swimming, play tennis or have a dance party. You don’t even need a dance studio just turn the music all the way up and have fun. Stay healthy, stay positive, stay active.

Au Naturel

Beauty

au naturel

adjective & adverb

in the natural ‘state’

In beauty au naturel is the fruit of hard labor. It is the art of effortless beauty, that does require effort but that must remain our secret.

ON SKIN

How: Avoid using foundation, this will only put our secret at risk. Skin should look natural. But if you are anything like me you can mix your foundation with moisturizer to mute its effect or simply use concealer on blemishes. {Post inspired by How To Be Parisian Wherever You Are by Anne Berest}.

1. Moisturize. This step is very important, it makes your pores look next to invisible which makes your skin look silk smooth.

2. Conceal. Hide the bags under your eyes, the sides of your nose & pimples {because you had a little too much Godiva yesterday}.

image

3. Accentuate & Disguise. A little mascara never killed nobody. Apply a couple coats of mascara on both your top and bottom lashes.

4. Brighten. For a night out, apply bold red lipstick. I know I said this was a natural look but what says natural if not red lips?

ON EXTREMITIES

How: Keep clean, short nails at all times. On occasion add nail polish. I love to wear blush pink and nude tones. Simplicity is key.

Despite every effort. Embrace and cherish your imperfections {the slightly crooked tooth, or the barely there gap in your smile, prominent eyebrows or strong nose} these are all signs of strength of character.

Nayibe Nassar
